Introducción

Bueno. Soy Kate, pero acá me llaman Kati. Vengo del noreste de los Estados Unidos en Vermont. Suelo vivir en un pueblito que se llama Woodstock. No hay más que 3000 personas, ni ningún semáforo. Vivo en el campo; mi mamá tiene una finca con caballos, gallinas, perros, y gatos, y teníamos unas cabras y ovejas también. Asistía a un colegio de no más de 400 estudiantes, pero pienso que me enseñó a tener interés en el mundo fuera de donde crecía yo. Por eso me encanta viajar, aprender nuevos idiomas y conversar. Ahora soy estudiante de una universidad maravillosa en Carolina de Sur que se llama Clemson. Allí estudio el español y las relaciones internaciones, y juego ´lacrosse´ en un equipo; es un deporte muy popular en el este de los Estados Unidos, que desafortunadamente, todavía no se juega en muchos lados del mundo.

Ahora vivo acá en Córdoba. Escribo este blog para que sepa el público sobre la experiencia nueva que tengo en esta ciudad preciosa. Vivo con una mujer de 63 años, divorciada, y enamorada de su perra, Pepina. A mí me encantan los animales pero esta perra roba todo: la comida, unas toallas, mi paraguas, y unos regalitos que me trajo mi papá cuando vino. Siento que no la puedo amar porque cada vez que le doy una oportunidad para mejorar la relación manchada que ya tenemos, hace caca en el piso o ladra hasta que tengo que salir de mi camita cómoda…Por eso trato de usar mi tiempo explorando el nuevo lugar donde vivo. Suelo salir con mis amigos desde los jueves hasta los sábados, y no tengo clase los viernes – aprovecho este día libre y tomo mate con mis amigas, cocino, y descanso. Que vida que vivo acá :)

Well. I'm Kate, but here they call me Kati (Kah-tea). I come from the northeast of the United States in Vermont. I'm used to living in a very small town called Woodstock. There's no more than 3000 people, and not one stoplight. I live in the country; my mom has a farm with horses, chickens, dogs, and cats, and we used to have goats and sheep as well. I went to high school with no more than 400 students, but I think that it taught me to be interested in the world outside of where I grew up. For that reason, I love to travel, learn new languages, and converse. I am now a student at the wonnnnderful Clemson University in South Carolina. I study Spanish and International Trade, and I play lacrosse on the club team; it's a very popular sport in the east of the US but unfortunately has yet to be played in many parts of the world.

I'm now living here in Córdoba. I'm writing this blog so that the public knows about this new experience I continue to have here in this precious city. I live with a 63 year old woman, who's divorced and in love with her dog, Pepina (which means cucumber). I love all animals but this dog robs everything: food, towels, my umbrella, and the Ranch dressing that my dad brought me from the states when he came. I feel like I can't love her because every time I give her an opportunity to better the ruined relationship that we already have, she poops on the floor or barks until I have to get up from my comfy bed...Because of her I suppose I try to spend my time exploring the new place where I now live. I usually go out with my friends Thursday-Saturdays, and I don't have class on Fridays - I take advantage of this free day by drinking maté with my friends, cooking, and resting. What I life I live here :)
